Quinn named senior advisor at Equinox

Equinox Hospitality named Brian Quinn, former chief development officer of Sonesta International Hotels Corp., senior advisor.

Former Sonesta executive Brian Quinn is now senior advisor at Equinox Hospitality. He will advise on strategic opportunities and partnerships, identifying prospects that enhance the organization’s capabilities and support its expansion strategy.


Quinn worked at Hilton Worldwide Holdings, InterContinental Hotels Group, Choice Hotels International and most recently Sonesta International Hotels Corp., where he was chief development officer, leading growth and launching the company’s franchise program in the Americas across 13 brands, Equinox said in a statement.

Equinox Hospitality is a hotel investment, management, acquisition and development company, operating in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. It is led by President and CEO Abdul Suleman; Principal and Executive Vice President Adam Suleman and Principal and Executive Vice President Sam Suleman.

“We are thrilled to have Brian on the Equinox team,” said Adam Suleman. “He is well-known in our industry for his collaborative, strategic approach to growth and branding, as well as his passion for hospitality. His industry network and proven deal-making expertise in domestic and international markets will further strengthen our organization’s growth momentum.”

Quinn, who spent his career supporting industry organizations, holds board and industry roles, including secretary/treasurer of the AHLA Foundation, and advises the Penn State University Hospitality program. He has lobbied Congress, the Florida Legislature and the executive branch on behalf of the hospitality industry.

Quinn said he loves the hospitality industry and is excited to join the team at Equinox.

“We will continue Equinox’s international growth to scale the business efficiently, effectively and sustainably,” he said. “I look forward to what we can accomplish together.”

Phil Hugh recently became chief development officer at Sonesta, succeeding Brian Quinn and will focus on expanding the company’s brand portfolio across the Americas.
