- He has led technology teams.
- He was Uber’s VP of software engineering.
Jeff Moore will join Hilton Worldwide Holdings as executive vice president and chief technology officer on Oct. 26. He will report to Hilton President and CEO Chris Nassetta and serve on the company’s executive committee.
Moore joins Hilton from Uber, where he was vice president of software engineering, Hilton said in a statement. He has held leadership roles in technology, engineering, product and operations.
Before Uber, Moore held leadership roles at Amazon.
“Hilton has long used technology to drive hospitality and create better stays for our guests,” said Nassetta. “At a time of extraordinary change, Jeff Moore’s deep technical expertise, operating experience and customer focus will help us move faster, harness AI and next-generation technology, and continue playing a leadership role in shaping the future of hospitality.”
At Uber, Moore led engineering organizations supporting Uber Eats, Uber for Business, Uber Direct and Uber Courier, Uber Advertising, Growth and Marketing, and Applied AI. He led 2,500 engineers supporting Uber Eats, Uber for Business, and the company’s growth and marketing technology.
Hilton is developing technology offerings, including AI-powered trip planning that connects search to stay, and a technology platform to scale guest-facing tools such as personalized digital messaging.
Moore said Hilton’s brands, global scale and reputation in hospitality make the role an opportunity.
“I was especially drawn to Hilton’s ambition to harness AI and next-generation technology to reimagine the guest experience and empower team members,” he said.
At Amazon, Moore was a founding leader in the company’s fulfillment business and later led engineering and product teams for Kindle, Fire TV, Fire Tablet and Echo/Alexa. Earlier, he held software engineering and operations roles at Anheuser-Busch. He holds three U.S. patents and serves on the board of Edmund Optics.
In September, Mark Weinstein stepped down as Hilton’s global chief marketing officer.
