Midkiff joins hihotels as franchise development director

Kimberly Midkiff is now director of franchise development and the assurance and marketing program for hihotels by Hospitality International. Prior to that, she was the vice president of development for Sonesta and Red Lion Hotels Corp.

Previously, Midkiff was director of sales and operations for JDH Developers, a hospitality real estate firm, according to company. Based in Lakemont, Georgia, she will be responsible for the growth of hihotels’ Scottish Inns, Red Carpet Inn, Master Hosts Inns, Downtowner Inns and Passport Inn brands in the Southeast.


According to the company, she will provide sales and marketing support and training to franchisees in the area as part of the Assurance & Marketing Program.

“In addition to the increase in high-quality properties joining the system over the past few years, we’re also attracting some top-notch talent to the corporate team,” said Chris Guimbellot, hihotels president and CEO. “Kimberly is a perfect example, having achieved a lot of hotel development success during her impressive career. I know she’s going to help increase our presence in the Southeast and then work with each property to maximize its ROI potential.”

Midkiff called hihotels “new and improved.”

"The company has been enjoying a revival under Chris’ direction and I can’t wait to keep the momentum going. I’m also looking forward to meeting the great hoteliers in my region and providing customized support to help them exceed their goals,” said Midkiff.

Recently,  hihotels announced its 2021 award winners.

Who Is Kevin Carey, New AHLA Foundation CEO in 2025?

KEVIN CAREY, CHIEF operating officer and senior vice president of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, is now president and CEO of AHLA Foundation. He will remain AHLA’s chief operating officer while succeeding Anna Blue, who announced her departure in February after two years.

The announcement follows the Foundation’s Night of a Thousand Stars fundraiser, which gathered more than 400 industry leaders and raised more than $1 million for its initiatives, AHLA said in a statement.
