Marco Selva is the new senior vice president of business development and operations at Stonebridge Cos., focusing on expanding its luxury, lifestyle and resort portfolio in the Southeast, Caribbean and Latin America. His appointment supports the company’s efforts to strengthen its market presence, Stonebridge said in a statement.
Selva will open a Miami office and target high-end projects across the region, aligning with Stonebridge’s growth strategy, the company said.
Stonebridge is led by Founder and Chairman Navin Dimond.
Rob Smith, Stonebridge’s president and CEO, said Selva’s appointment is a step in expanding the company’s luxury, lifestyle, and resort footprint in the region.
“With my background in the Caribbean and Aruba, combined with Marco’s extensive experience and focus on these key markets, we are well-positioned to drive growth in the Caribbean and Latin America,” Smith said. “We look forward to building a strong team around Marco in the Miami office to support this exciting new phase of expansion.”
Smith became Stonebridge’s president and CEO in July, succeeding founder Navin Dimond, who remains chairman of the Denver-based hotel management company.
Stonebridge is currently working on five projects in the Caribbean and has been approved by Marriott as a JW Marriott franchisee for an upcoming Atlanta project, the statement said.
“I am thrilled to join Stonebridge and work alongside Rob and the rest of the Stonebridge team to lead and execute the strategic growth in these exciting regions that I know well,” Selva said. “The Caribbean, Latin America and Southeastern U.S. represent some of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving markets in the hospitality industry. With my deep experience in these regions, I look forward to leveraging Stonebridge’s expertise and innovative approach to build on existing relationships, identify new opportunities and deliver extraordinary value for our ownership groups.”
Selva will lead strategic initiatives and business development, focusing on new opportunities and expanding relationships in the luxury, lifestyle, and resort segments, the statement said.
Before joining Stonebridge, Selva held senior roles in business development, operations, and strategy at SH Hotels & Resorts, Highgate, Ennismore and luxury brands like St. Regis and Ritz-Carlton.
In September, Stonebridge promoted Chris Cheney to SVP of commercial services. He joined the company in 2007, serving as a general manager at properties from Alaska to Colorado before becoming director of revenue management in 2011. In the new role, Cheney oversees revenue management, sales and marketing, and digital strategy.

MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL RECENTLY launched the brand “Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy” and introduced “Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors,” a digital platform that lets travelers plan trips by destination or activity. The first two brands in the Outdoor Collection are Postcard Cabins and Trailborn Hotels.
Outdoor Collection offers stays such as cabins near national parks and hotels on cliffs, providing access to nature along with basic guest needs, including beds, running water and restrooms, Marriott said in a statement.
The Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors platform includes 450 hotels, 50,000 homes and villas, and tours and activities, the statement said. Postcard Cabins has 1,200 cabins across 29 U.S. locations within two hours of major cities and Trailborn Hotels offers properties in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Grand Canyon, and Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.
“We built Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors to help people, whether that’s cresting a mountain trail, catching the perfect wave, or simply finding quiet under the stars,” said Peggy Roe, Marriott's executive vice president and chief customer officer. “Travel is at its best when it speaks to who we are and what we love. It’s about reconnecting with yourself and the people you love in the places that inspire you most. With the new Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, our curated Marriott Bonvoy Moments and activations like the Drop Pin Challenge with Dylan Efron, we’re not just offering places to stay, we’re opening doors to experiences that inspire, connect and stay with you forever.”
Marriott Bonvoy partnered with Dylan Efron on the Drop Pin Challenge, a treasure hunt across 20 U.S. and Canadian locations with 10 million points at stake. Travelers can visit marriottbonvoyoutdoors.com for rules and locations and the first 50 eligible participants to scan each pin earn 10,000 points. The platform is also partnering with Outside Interactive to offer Marriott Bonvoy Moments that connect guests with nature and activities.
