Summary:
- An Indian American guest’s video from a Gujarat resort went viral.
- The hotel staff arranged medicine for her late at night.
- The incident took place at Madhubhan Resort and Spa.
AN INDIAN AMERICAN guest’s video in which she emotionally recounted the special care shown her by the staff at a resort in Gujarat went viral. Employees at Madhubhan Resort and Spa in Anand arranged medicine for the guest when she fell ill at night.
Tanya Sangani said she suddenly felt sick late at night and reached out to room service for help, uncertain if anyone would respond at such an hour. What followed left her deeply moved, according to NDTV.
Sangani recounts in the teary-eyed video how a hotel staff member not only checked on her condition but personally drove out in the middle of the night to procure basic medicines. The staff then ensured she was comfortable before leaving.
"I'm in a hotel right now in India and I'm crying over my forks and spoons because someone from room service came to deliver those to me,” she said, according to the Free Press Journal. “And they were just so freaking nice. And like I haven't been really feeling well. Like I've been really really sick. And like someone from the hotel like drove and got me medicine. The people in India are so nice.”
The video went viral on X, formerly Twitter.
Social media users were quick to frame the incident as a reflection of everyday Indian values rather than an exception.
“Welcome to India; this is the least an Indian can do,” one user commented.
Another recalled a similar experience, writing that hotel staff once prepared porridge during off-kitchen hours when they fell ill. Others described such acts as “humanity in action” and part of the country’s social DNA.
Recently, a post by Vineeth K on X praising Indian hospitality as “unmatched” also went viral and resonated with Indians who have travelled abroad. He had praised Indian hotels for their attentiveness and care, especially when contrasted with experiences in Europe.
