IHG HOTELS & RESORTS’ Garner brand reached 100 hotels worldwide since its August 2023 launch, becoming the company’s fastest brand to scale. A pipeline of nearly 80 hotels will almost double its reach in the coming years.
With open or pipeline properties in 12 countries, the brand serves markets from the U.S. and Mexico to Italy and Japan, IHG said in a statement. In the Americas, the brand had 32 signings and 23 openings in 2025, the third highest among IHG brands in the region. U.S. openings included Butte, Montana; near Lake Powell, Arizona; suburban Boston, Massachusetts; and the greater New York City area.
“Garner’s initial global success reflects IHG’s expertise in building and scaling conversion-ready brands that owners and guests trust,” said Karen Gilbride, IHG’s global vice president for Garner. “Beyond offering an alternative for value-conscious travelers, Garner’s flexible development model allows the brand to enter new global markets faster and deliver returns for owners. Even as we’ve reached initial milestones, we’re just starting to tap into Garner’s full growth potential and look forward to introducing its offering to more owners and travelers in the years ahead.”
The brand’s growth among owners and developers stems from global demand for conversion properties, which made up 52 percent of IHG room openings in 2025. Its cost-per-key ratio, flexible design standards, lower pre-opening costs and faster turnaround allow some properties to complete conversions in just over a month from signing to opening.
Across the Europe, Middle East, Asia & Africa region, Garner opened 43 hotels in 2025, the most of any IHG brand, driven by initial transitions of 56 total open and pipeline properties in Germany under a 2024 agreement with NOVUM Hospitality. Garner’s global reach will grow as the brand expands across Greater China later this year.
IHG recently appointed Neetu Mistry managing director for the U.K. and Ireland. The company reported 2025 revenue of $35.2 billion, up 5 percent from a year earlier.
