HYATT HOTELS CORP. contracted Brigade Hotel Ventures Ltd. and BCV Developers Pvt. Ltd., part of the Brigade Group, for two South India properties. The properties include Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR in Chennai and Hyatt House Bengaluru Devanahalli in Bengaluru.

BHVL is developing the 200-key Grand Hyatt Chennai, a beachfront hotel on India’s southeastern coast, Hyatt said in a statement. The property, scheduled to open in 2029, will include a pool bar, lobby lounge, wellness facilities and event spaces. It will serve leisure and business travelers for weddings, staycations and MICE.

“This will be our first hotel with Hyatt and we are confident in Hyatt’s expertise in managing large-format MICE hotels,” said Nirupa Shankar, BHVL’s managing director. “Located on East Coast Road, the property is expected to become a destination for business travellers, wedding guests and leisure seekers. Brigade is committed to hospitality assets and Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR is a key step in that journey.”

Bengaluru-based BHVL, a subsidiary of Brigade Enterprises Ltd., is led by Executive Chairman M.R. Jaishankar. In February, BHVL signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tamil Nadu government at the Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit 2026 to invest $121.59 million in the state.

Meanwhile, BCV Developers is developing Bengaluru Hyatt House, a greenfield project scheduled to open in 2027, the statement said. The property will have 135 serviced apartments for short and extended stays and will include meeting spaces, a swimming pool and a fitness center. It is located near Kempegowda International Airport and the Devanahalli tech corridor, which includes planned IT parks, the Aerospace Science Park and Financial City.

Amar Mysore, BCV Developers’ director, said they are pleased to collaborate with Hyatt on the project.

“The Hyatt House brand fits the Devanahalli locality, offering comfort and convenience for business and leisure travellers. Its proximity to the airport and tech parks makes it a strong location, and we expect it to set a new standard for extended-stay hospitality in the region.”

In August, Marriott International and BHVL announced plans to open six hotels with 940 rooms across four Indian markets under five Marriott Bonvoy brands: The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott, and Fairfield by Marriott.

“We are excited to work with Brigade Group through the signings of Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR and Hyatt House Bengaluru Devanahalli,” said Dhruva Rathore, Hyatt’s vice president of development for India and Southwest Asia. “Chennai and Bengaluru are strong hospitality markets and these developments align with Hyatt’s strategy to expand its presence in key leisure and business destinations across India.”
