Hugh is new chief development officer for Radisson

Previously he was CDO at Red Roof

Phil Hugh is now chief development officer for the Americas for Radisson Hotel Group. Previously he was chief development officer at Red Roof Inn.

Hugh also worked for Realogy Franchise Group, Development Opportunity Corp. and Cendant Corp. In the new role he will oversee Radisson’s expansion in the Americas.

“I am thrilled to welcome Phil to our team as we add a renewed passion and commitment to our development efforts,” said Jim Alderman, Radisson’s CEO for the Americas. “Signing exceptional hotels in key gateway markets is critical to our success as we execute our five-year plan. I have absolute confidence in Phil and our executive committee to quickly and effectively elevate our development team and our organization so we can come together to achieve our goals.”

In February, Hugh spoke with Asian Hospitality about the key to Red Roof’s growth.

“I think it starts at the top down, with [Red Roof President Andy Alexander] and myself,” Hugh said. “We’re always reaching out to franchisees on myriad matters to find out what their opinions are before we make a decision to move the brand forward.”
