Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kalamazoo East is now open in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The 105-room hotel is owned by Amerilodge Group, led by President and CEO Asad Malik.
The hotel is near Interstate 94, with access to major employers, educational institutions, health care facilities and local attractions, Amerilodge said in a statement. Nearby institutions and employers include Stryker Corp., Pfizer, Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo College. Nearby attractions include the Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Museum, Kalamazoo Valley Museum, Kalamazoo Nature Center and Kalamazoo Institute of Arts.
The property follows the Holiday Inn Express brand’s Formula Blue 2.0 design concept, the statement said. Guestrooms and suites feature updated furnishings and storage, including a Smart Shelf that combines a luggage bench with drawers. Public areas incorporate wood elements and locally inspired design details.
“Our investment in Kalamazoo reflects our confidence in the strength of this community and its continued economic potential,” Malik said. “By introducing 105 modern guestrooms, we are expanding the region’s hospitality offerings and investing in its future.”
The hotel offers more than 1,100 square feet of flexible meeting space for functions of up to 100 people. It features an indoor heated pool and a 24-hour fitness center. Business services are also available.
Jake Saucedo, the hotel’s general manager, said the team aims to build relationships with local businesses, organizations and travelers.
In September, Apsilon Hotels opened the five-story, 128-key @Home by Best Western McDonough in McDonough, Georgia.
