HILTON WORLDWIDE HOLDINGS introduced “Outset Collection by Hilton,” its 25th brand and eighth in the Lifestyle portfolio. The brand targets travelers seeking boutique hotels with unique identities and experiences.

The first Outset Collection hotels are expected to open later this year, with bookings starting in November, Hilton said in a statement. More than 60 hotels are in development, with potential to grow to more than 500 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Confirmed properties include a basecamp in Moab, Utah, and a hotel in Chicago.

“At Hilton, we continue to reimagine what’s next in hospitality and today, we’re delivering it,” said Chris Nassetta, Hilton’s president and CEO. “Outset Collection is an expression of our commitment to growth, innovation and meeting the evolving needs of travelers around the world. By expanding our Lifestyle portfolio, we are broadening the ways guests engage with Hilton and unlocking new possibilities for our owners, our teams and the communities we serve.”

The brand builds on Hilton’s experience with conversion hotels, including Curio Collection and Tapestry Collection, the statement said. Conversions across 10 Hilton brands made up more than one-third of second-quarter openings.

Outset Collection hotels will feature finishes and designs that allow each property to reflect its identity, the company said. Food and beverage options will vary by location, from cafes to full-service dining.

Chris Silcock, Hilton’s president for global brands and commercial services, said independent hotels thrive when they preserve their unique character while tapping into a global hospitality leader.

“With Outset Collection, we are offering owners the flexibility they want without compromising on quality," he said. "By combining one-of-a-kind properties with Hilton’s commercial engine and commitment to product, service and technology, we’re elevating our value proposition across the board.”

Hilton reached 9,000 hotels worldwide with the opening of Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas.
