EKOSTAY ADDED FIVE new properties to its private villa portfolio in Maharashtra and Karnataka. The new additions are in Nashik, Wada, Igatpuri and Lonavala in Maharashtra and Chikmagalur in Karnataka.
Each property is built around a different kind of stay, according to the company. Wada Crest in Wada is a three-bedroom retreat with a private pool and open outdoor spaces. Casa Elara in Igatpuri is a five-bedroom villa with mountain views.Casa Bella in Lonavala spans about 10,000 square feet and includes entertainment areas and a garden. Forest Cube Villa in Chikmagalur is set within coffee estate surroundings and marks EkoStay’s entry into the South India leisure market.

"Travellers today are looking for experiences that feel more private, immersive and emotionally connected to the destination itself rather than simply transactional stays,” said Varun Arora, EkoStay CEO and co-founder. “Maharashtra and Karnataka continue to emerge as very strong leisure markets because they offer accessibility, natural beauty and year-round travel demand.”

Husain Khatumdi, managing director and co-founder, said the focus is on destinations with long-term leisure potential.

"Guests today are not only seeking luxury, but also reliability, operational consistency and curated hospitality experiences," he said.

A Brigade Group blog noted that luxury travel in India is shifting toward private, experience-led stays, with growing demand for wellness, personalization and more meaningful destination experiences. It also found that travelers increasingly prefer villas and independent properties over traditional hotel formats.

Zishan Khan, co-founder, said that one of our biggest focus areas has been identifying destinations and properties that have strong experiential value and longterm hospitality relevance.

“Beyond acquiring inventory, our larger vision is to build highly curated villa clusters that deliver memorable stay experiences while also helping homeowners professionally monetise their properties,” he said.

Earlier this year, EkoStay expanded its portfolio by adding multiple villas across key leisure destinations in India to meet rising demand for experience-led stays.
