"Travellers today are looking for experiences that feel more private, immersive and emotionally connected to the destination itself rather than simply transactional stays,” said Varun Arora, EkoStay CEO and co-founder. “Maharashtra and Karnataka continue to emerge as very strong leisure markets because they offer accessibility, natural beauty and year-round travel demand.”
Husain Khatumdi, managing director and co-founder, said the focus is on destinations with long-term leisure potential.
"Guests today are not only seeking luxury, but also reliability, operational consistency and curated hospitality experiences," he said.
A Brigade Group blog noted that luxury travel in India is shifting toward private, experience-led stays, with growing demand for wellness, personalization and more meaningful destination experiences. It also found that travelers increasingly prefer villas and independent properties over traditional hotel formats.
Zishan Khan, co-founder, said that one of our biggest focus areas has been identifying destinations and properties that have strong experiential value and longterm hospitality relevance.
“Beyond acquiring inventory, our larger vision is to build highly curated villa clusters that deliver memorable stay experiences while also helping homeowners professionally monetise their properties,” he said.
Earlier this year, EkoStay expanded its portfolio by adding multiple villas across key leisure destinations in India to meet rising demand for experience-led stays.
