“Bengal offers an extraordinary diversity of landscapes and cultural experiences, from its vibrant cities and riverfronts to its forests, tea gardens and the Himalayas,” said Harshavardhan Neotia, Ambuja’s chairman. “With AltAir House, we aim to give each hotel its own design story, distinctive dining experiences and inviting spaces for people to come together.”

Ambuja also announced an investment of about $284.5 million in West Bengal’s hospitality sector across IHCL brands. The plan covers Kolkata, Raichak, Digha, Siliguri, Lataguri, Kalimpong and Darjeeling. It includes the two new hotels and a $10.54 million expansion of Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa in Darjeeling, which has 28 keys and 15,000 square feet of banqueting space.

IHCL and Ambuja together operate more than 80 properties in India, including 55 resorts under Tree of Life, the statement said.
