3H Group breaks ground on Caption by Hyatt Chattanooga

3H GROUP INC., led by Hiren Desai as president and CEO, broke ground on Caption by Hyatt Chattanooga, Hyatt Hotels Corp.'s inaugural launch of the brand in Tennessee. The upscale 123-room hotel, developed under a franchise agreement, is set to open in early 2026.

The company is developing a Hyatt Studios hotel in Mobile, Alabama, slated to open in early 2025.

"Our decision to continue our collaboration with Hyatt stems from their unwavering commitment to understanding the needs of both owners and guests," said Desai, also the owner of the Chattanooga property. "Caption by Hyatt is an innovative brand, and that approach, coupled with its flexible design and focus on guest experience makes it an attractive addition to our portfolio. We're excited to bring the vibrant energy of the first Caption by Hyatt hotel to our hometown of Chattanooga and look forward to enriching the local hospitality landscape."

“We are thrilled to collaborate with 3H Group on Caption by Hyatt Chattanooga and look forward to bringing this exciting concept to the vibrant downtown area—the first Hyatt hotel in Chattanooga,” said Jim Tierney, Hyatt’s senior vice president of development. “The Caption by Hyatt brand presents a compelling proposition for both developers and guests, offering a distinct hotel product that combines the lifestyle elements that guests crave with the operational efficiency of a select-service property. The Chattanooga hotel is the ideal location for the brand, set in a dense residential area with high foot traffic where the property can create a welcoming meeting place for the community.”

Caption by Hyatt made its debut in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2022. The brand plans to enter California with Caption by Hyatt Roseville, in collaboration with LRE & Cos. and American Hospitality Services, Inc., as well as Caption by Hyatt Sacramento, in collaboration with Presidio Hotel Development LLC and 29th Street Capital.

LRE & Cos. is led by founder and CEO Akki Patel, while American Hospitality Services is led by CEO and president Rohit Ranchhod. Presidio Hotel Development is led by managing principal Sushil Patel. These properties are also expected to open in 2026.

Caption by Hyatt will also open in international locations, including Shanghai, China; Osaka, Japan; Saigon, Vietnam; and Sydney, Australia, in 2025. In addition to Caption by Hyatt's expansion, Hyatt boasts a record pipeline of 127,000 rooms worldwide as of year-end 2023.

Giri Hotel Management, led by Ash Sangani, recently signed its inaugural franchise agreement with Hyatt to develop and oversee a 122-room Hyatt Studios hotel at Portland International Jetport.

Air India reducing flights after deadly crash

AIR INDIA WILL reduce international service on widebody aircraft by 15 percent through at least mid-July, according to media reports. The decision comes less than a week after the June 12 crash of an Air India airliner carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members in Ahmedabad, India, that killed 246 but left one survivor among the passengers.

The airline said the reduced service due to the safety inspection of aircraft and ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which have disrupted operations, resulting in 83 flight cancellations over the past six days, according to ABC News. Passengers can either reschedule their flights at no additional cost or receive a full refund.

ICE Reverses Decision to Pause Raids on Key Industries

U.S. IMMIGRATION OFFICIALS have reversed enforcement limits at hotels, farms, restaurants and food processing plants days after issuing them, following conflicting statements by President Donald Trump, according to Reuters. ICE leadership told field office heads on Monday it would withdraw last week's directive that paused raids on those businesses.

ICE officials were told a daily quota of 3,000 arrests—10 times the average last year under former President Joe Biden—would remain in effect, two former officials said in the report. ICE field office heads raised concerns they could not meet the quota without raids at the previously exempted businesses, Reuters reported, citing a source.

However, it was not clear why the directive was reversed.
