- World of Hyatt updated its loyalty program and award chart.
- Redemptions expand from three to five levels in May.
- It offers fixed award charts with category flexibility.
HYATT HOTELS CORP. is updating its World of Hyatt loyalty program, expanding award redemptions from three to five levels across eight categories starting in May. The framework aligns hotels within category caps, manages peak demand and reduces category shifts.
The updated award chart takes effect in May with gradual implementation, Hyatt said in a statement. The structure will introduce five redemption tiers: Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper, and Top. In 2026, some hotels will move select nights into the Upper and Top categories, with broader adoption in later years. It will continue using fixed point thresholds rather than dynamic pricing for award nights.
“Our members tell us they value transparency and the ability to plan with confidence,” said Laurie Blair, Hyatt’s senior vice president, global marketing and loyalty. “We know change can be difficult, especially in a loyalty program our members care deeply about. This update reinforces our commitment to a published award chart with fixed point thresholds while ensuring World of Hyatt remains strong, sustainable and rewarding for years to come.”
In addition to the award chart update, World of Hyatt will introduce two enhancements, the statement said. Later this year, members can share points digitally to support shared travel. Explorists, Globalists, Lifetime Globalists and World of Hyatt Credit Cardmembers will get early access to award night availability to plan future stays.
The program will continue its annual hotel category review, with changes announced each April. Effective immediately, five hotels will move up one category: Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach, Hyatt Centric Malta, Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort, Hyatt Place San Antonio-Northwest/Medical Center and Grand Hyatt Incheon. Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman Resort & Spa, opening in 2026, will move up two categories. The Barnett, part of the JdV by Hyatt brand, will move down one category.
Since the 2021 award chart update, World of Hyatt added lifestyle brands such as The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels, luxury all-inclusive brands including Impression by Secrets, Zoëtry Wellness and Spa Resorts, and Dreams Resorts and Spa, as well as the outdoor hospitality brand Under Canvas. Hyatt said these additions expand earning and redemption options across its global network.
Maintaining a published award chart with fixed point thresholds and flexibility within category caps supports transparency and program sustainability, the statement said.
Hyatt reported higher RevPAR for the fourth quarter and full-year 2025 despite a drop in net income. Comparable systemwide RevPAR rose 4 percent in the quarter and 2.9 percent for the year versus 2024. Thomas Pritzker resigned as chairman following the revelation of his Epstein link, with CEO Mark Hoplamazian now serving as both CEO and chairman.
