WHITESTONE CAPITAL ACQUIRED the 408-room, 22-story Renaissance Hotel in downtown Columbus, Ohio. This marks Whitestone’s third acquisition in Columbus in the last 10 months, bringing the company’s total Columbus-area assets to five.

The hotel is near the Arena District, the Greater Columbus Convention Center and the Ohio State Capitol Complex, Whitestone said in a statement. It has a rooftop pool, two food and beverage outlets, rooftop event space, 23,500 square feet of meeting facilities and a fitness center.

Whitestone Capital, a division of Whitestone Cos., is led by CEO Jay Batra.

“We are excited to add this iconic Columbus hotel to our Whitestone portfolio,” said Batra. “This marks our largest purchase in the city to date and demonstrates our commitment to expanding our presence in the upper-upscale hospitality space.”

Whitestone previously acquired the Westin Columbus Great Southern Hotel in March 2025 and a 50,000-square-foot office building in Polaris in September, the statement said. It completed 12 transactions nationwide in the past 24 months and plans to move its corporate offices to the Polaris office building in the second quarter of 2026.

Crescent Hotels will manage both the Renaissance and the Westin.

Chuck Groger, Whitestone’s chief revenue officer, said the two recent downtown Columbus hotel acquisitions will allow a ‘One Team’ approach to guest service, operations and revenue.

In October, Whitestone launched Soartress Hospitality, a hotel management company that will oversee select-service, extended-stay and full-service hotels across brands, focusing on performance, leadership and operations.
