Renovated Best Western Plus opens in Pittston, Pennsylvania

The hotel is owned by Jaai Santoshi LLC

The renovated Best Western Plus Wilkes Barre-Scranton Airport hotel is now open at Pittston, Pennsylvania. It is owned by Pittston, Pennsylvania-based Jaai Santoshi LLC.

The hotel, which underwent a $2 million renovation, has 99 guest rooms, including eight suites. It offers easy access to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport with a 24-hour shuttle at no charge.


Nearby are PNC Field, home to the Minor League Triple-A Yankees, The Pavilion at Montage Mountain outdoor amphitheater, the Montage Mountain Resort and Waterpark, Mohegan Sun Casino and Arena and the Centerpointe Industrial Parks and Grimes Industrial Bank.

“This property is an exceptional lodging option for guests traveling to Eastern Pennsylvania for business or leisure,” said Rak Patel, the hotel’s general manager.

The amenities include an outdoor pool open in summer and a 600-square-foot meeting space.

In December, Ash Patel’s renovated Best Western Plus Warsaw has opened in Warsaw, Indiana.

Choice Hotels International reported third-quarter net income of $180 million, up from $105.7 million a year earlier, driven by international business growth. Global RevPAR rose 0.2 percent year over year, with 9.5 percent growth internationally offsetting a 3.2 percent decline in U.S. RevPAR.

The U.S. decline was due to weaker government and international inbound demand, Choice said. The company lowered its full-year U.S. RevPAR forecast to -2 to -3 percent, from the previous 0 to -3 percent.
