Prominence Hospitality set to manage Courtyard by Marriott Albion

Prominence Hospitality Group, a Chicago-based real estate investment, development, and hotel management company, has entered into a contract with Albion College to manage its hotel Courtyard by Marriott Albion. This hotel is a core anchor in the redevelopment of the downtown area of Albion.

“The resurgence of downtown Albion is inspiring and exciting,” said Dhaval Brahmbhatt, principal, Prominence Hospitality Group. “The opportunity to be a part of the invigoration of Albion only adds to our own company’s growth trajectory as we expand within the Midwest region.”

This is the second Michigan-based hotel and fourth Marriott property to join Prominence portfolio. The hotel located near Albion College has 75 keys and offers a prime location with new bars, restaurants, Bohm Theatre, a children's museum, and easy access to the industrial district, Prominence said in a statement.

“The opening of the Marriott in downtown Albion in 2018 was a major catalyst in the resurgence we are now seeing in the area,” said Joe Calvaruso, interim president, Albion College. “The selection of Prominence to manage the hotel was a natural fit for this property, with their growth strategies closely aligned with those of the Albion community. Prominence is hyper-focused on creating a memorable guest experience while building asset value and creating and empowering strong leadership at the property.”

Prominence, led by Rana Rehan Zaid, recently expanded its corporate leadership team with the addition of Steve Natale as VP of operations and Kelly Willis as director of information technology.

Air India reducing flights after deadly crash

AIR INDIA WILL reduce international service on widebody aircraft by 15 percent through at least mid-July, according to media reports. The decision comes less than a week after the June 12 crash of an Air India airliner carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members in Ahmedabad, India, that killed 246 but left one survivor among the passengers.

The airline said the reduced service due to the safety inspection of aircraft and ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which have disrupted operations, resulting in 83 flight cancellations over the past six days, according to ABC News. Passengers can either reschedule their flights at no additional cost or receive a full refund.

ICE Reverses Decision to Pause Raids on Key Industries

U.S. IMMIGRATION OFFICIALS have reversed enforcement limits at hotels, farms, restaurants and food processing plants days after issuing them, following conflicting statements by President Donald Trump, according to Reuters. ICE leadership told field office heads on Monday it would withdraw last week's directive that paused raids on those businesses.

ICE officials were told a daily quota of 3,000 arrests—10 times the average last year under former President Joe Biden—would remain in effect, two former officials said in the report. ICE field office heads raised concerns they could not meet the quota without raids at the previously exempted businesses, Reuters reported, citing a source.

However, it was not clear why the directive was reversed.
