OYO, THE INDIAN hotel technology firm, added 50 new DanCenter units, its European vacation rental brand, throughout India in the first quarter of that country’s fiscal year 2026. The company plans to expand by 200 more homes by the end of the financial year, strengthening its presence in the country’s vacation rental market.

OYO Vacation Homes, part of Oravel Stays, OYO’s parent, acquired Denmark-based DanCenter in 2019. The first DanCenter property, a group of 3BHK villas, opened in Siolim, North Goa in February, marking OYO’s entry into the alternative accommodation segment.

“At DanCenter, we believe the best way to experience a destination is through its local essence,” said Aditya Sharma, Oravel Stays’ business head for upscale. “Our homes offer local cuisine, cultural activities and tailored stays for groups like wedding parties and digital nomads.”

OYO CEO Ritesh Agarwal, who also chairs G6 Hospitality, the parent of Motel 6 and Studio 6, recently launched a contest to rename Oravel Stays, offering a $3,500 prize.

Founded in 1957, DanCenter manages around 12,000 holiday homes across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Germany. In India, it operates in Lonavala, Kufri, Ramgarh, Chennai, Mahabalipuram, Idukki, Jaipur, Bangalore and Delhi, offering villas and serviced apartments with chef-on-call, concierge services, BBQ setups and guided tours.

DanCenter India draws on its Danish roots in design and comfort. Its expansion plan includes entry into Telangana and the Northeast to meet growing demand for managed vacation homes. The brand aims to bring the Danish concept of hygge—a blend of comfort, ease, and well-being—to destinations across India.

DanCenter provides end-to-end management for homeowners, including cleaning, marketing and OTA integration. It uses AI-driven pricing to stay competitive across seasons and platforms.

Agarwal and G6 Hospitality CEO Sonal Sinha recently spoke with Asian Hospitality on leadership and success.
