Anjali Agarwal is senior vice president of asset management at Newbond Holdings. She will oversee asset performance and value creation across the firm’s hospitality portfolio.

New York-based Newbond is led by founders Neil Luthra and Vann Avedisian.


Agarwal most recently served as senior vice president at Starwood Capital Group, overseeing a portfolio of U.S. hotels and resorts, Newbond said in a statement. She was named to Asian Hospitality’s inaugural “51 Most Influential Women of Color in Hospitality.”

She has 25 years of experience in hospitality, real estate investment, operations and strategy, the statement said. She has managed over $4 billion in transactions, $1 billion in renovations and more than $6 billion in assets and investments.

Agarwal was named a “40 Under 40” dealmaker by M&A Advisor.

She has also held senior roles at AutoCamp, Orbitz, Marriott International, the Taj Group of Hotels and Chartres Lodging Group, where she spent 12 years as principal and executive vice president. She has served on the board of the Hotel Asset Managers Association and frequently speaks at industry conferences, including ALIS, ULI and Skift.

Travel club founder to guide Hyatt’s luxury portfolio

Tamara Lohan is Hyatt Hotels Corp.’s interim global brand leader for its luxury portfolio. She is the founder and CEO of Mr & Mrs Smith, the travel club and booking platform Hyatt acquired in 2023.

Lohan has experience in independent hotels, design-driven travel, personalization, global luxury trends and consumer insights, Hyatt said in a statement. In her new role will guide Hyatt’s luxury brand strategy and ensure consistency across the portfolio.
