MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL IS No. 7 on the 2026 Fortune and Great Place to Work 100 Best Workplaces list in the U.S. It has appeared on the list since its inception nearly three decades ago.
The ranking follows recognition in more than a dozen countries and placement among the top five World’s Best Workplaces, Marriott said in a statement. It reflects the company’s focus on its workforce and workplace culture.
“For nearly a century, Marriott has been guided by our founding core values, creating a culture rooted in trust, opportunity and respect for every associate,” said Anthony Capuano, Marriott’s president and CEO. “This recognition is meaningful because it reflects associates’ voices and experiences and affirms our people-first culture that is brought to life every day by our associates. I am deeply grateful to associates around the world for supporting one another, fostering belonging, living our values, strengthening communities and making Marriott a great place to work.”
Marriott launched its people brand, Be, in 2023 with three pillars: Begin, Belong and Become. The pillars emphasize career entry, workplace inclusion and career development.
Under Begin, Marriott expanded access to training through a digital platform offering programs, coaching and skill development. Under Belong, the company runs a wellbeing program covering physical, mental and financial health, supported by more than 13,000 TakeCare Champions who connect associates with resources. The company also provides pay structures, scheduling options and its Explore by Marriott Bonvoy™ travel discount program.
Through Become, Marriott supports career growth through coaching, feedback and advancement pathways. Its Elevate program prepares frontline employees for management roles, with participants reporting higher retention and promotion rates.
The 100 Best Workplaces list is based on survey data from Great Place to Work’s Trust Index platform, which measures employee perceptions. Only companies with high survey responses earn placement on the list.
Michael Bush, Great Place to Work’s CEO, said trust in the organization is a leading indicator of business performance.
“When employees trust their leaders, they are more willing to give extra effort, embrace innovation like new AI tools and deliver a better experience to customers,” he said.
Ty Breland, Marriott’s CHRO and executive vice president, Global Operations Services, said at Marriott, people don’t come for a job, they come for a career.
“At Marriott, people don’t come for a job, they come for a career. They come to grow, to be part of something bigger and to build a future for themselves and their families,” Breland said. “Our role is to create the environment where that’s possible. Everything we do through Be is grounded in our core values and focused on helping associates develop, move and succeed across the business. When associates feel supported and see a path forward, they stay and they thrive.”
Marriott’s worldwide RevPAR rose 1.9 percent in the fourth quarter and 2 percent for full-year 2025. Its development pipeline reached 4,100 properties and nearly 610,000 rooms.
