Malik is Accor VP, people and culture, South Asia

Accor Ltd. appointed Amit Malik vice president of people and culture for South Asia.

Amit Malik is Accor Ltd.’s vice president of people and culture for South Asia. He will build organisational capabilities, strengthen leadership and support the employee experience across the region.

Prior to joining Accor, Malik was president for Japan, Asia Pacific and Australia at WadzPay, Accor said in a statement. He has experience in human resources, business leadership and organisational transformation.


“We are pleased to welcome Amit to Accor,” said Ranju Alex, Accor’s CEO for South Asia. “His understanding of people strategy and business will support our talent and culture across South Asia.”

Malik spent part of his career at Aviva Life Insurance India, where he held roles including chief people officer, chief people operations and customer services officer and CEO and managing director. He also held roles at Bank of America, Royal Bank of Scotland, American Express and GSK Consumer Healthcare.

He has worked with boards and senior stakeholders on decision-making, governance and organisational effectiveness, the statement said. His experience will support Accor’s growth and talent strategy in South Asia.

In February, Accor appointed Amitabh Rai as South Asia COO for luxury, overseeing India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, Accor and InterGlobe Enterprises are considering a public listing for their joint hotel venture, which plans to open 300 properties by 2030. The venture has shifted its focus from premium and midscale to luxury properties.
