MARRIOTT’S LE MÉRIDIEN Hotels & Resorts opened the 103-key Le Méridien Dehradun Resort & Spa in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. The property in Doon Valley, along the banks of Nun River, marks the brand’s first in the city.
The city is an emerging leisure hub and key gateway to some of North India’s most sought-after hill destinations, including Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Haridwar, Marriott said in a statement.
The resort is 45 minutes from Jolly Grant Airport and 15 minutes from Dehradun Railway Station. Amenities include an outdoor pool, meeting space, spa and fitness center.
“Le Méridien continues to see strong affinity from both owners and guests, driven by its distinctive positioning and growing appeal among experience-led travelers,” said Kiran Andicot, Marriott’s senior vice president for South Asia, according to The Economic Times. “The brand’s steady expansion reflects that confidence. With the opening of Le Méridien Dehradun Resort & Spa, we continue to make our mark in high-potential leisure and gateway destinations that are becoming increasingly important in India’s evolving travel landscape.”
Cristiano Rinaldi, Marriott’s chief lodging product and services officer for the Asia Pacific, excluding China, said that Le Méridien is about celebrating the destination, art and savoring the good life.
“The opening of Le Méridien Dehradun Resort & Spa reflects this approach – with a setting where thoughtful design, local character and a slower pace of travel come together to create meaningful guest experiences,” he said.
In December, Marriott hit 200 properties in India with the opening of The Westin Jaipur Kant Kalwar Resort & Spa in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
