HOSPITALITY ANALYTICS FIRM Knowland will hold a webinar series on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the industry beginning next week. Themes include business stabilization, preparing for the economic rebound and the “new normal” of events and meetings.

Hosts for the new series include Kristi White, Knowland’s vice president of product; Kristin House, senior vice president at ConferenceDirect; and Allison Ahrens, president of Hospitality Revenue Solutions LLC. The scheduled webinars, each to begin at 1 a.m. ET, are:

  • May 12 - Part 3: Perspectives on the Future New Normal of Events and Meetings

Attendees at a previous Knowland webinar in March revealed in a survey that they were optimistic that they would survive the downturn with their businesses intact.

U.S. HOTELS ADJUSTED strategies to protect profit margins despite revenue lagging budget, according to Actabl’s HotelData.com. RevPAR averaged $119.22 through Sept. 30, 9 percent below budget, while GOP margins held at 37.7 percent, 1.2 points short of target.

HotelData.com’s “Hotel Profitability Performance Report for Q3 2025” showed operators adjusting forecasts, controlling labor and costs and protecting margins as demand softens and expenses rise. The report indicates an industry shift, with hoteliers relying less on rate growth and more on cost control, labor strategies and forecasting to maintain profitability.
