IHG HOTELS & RESORTS and Zon Hotels Mumbai Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture of SanRaj Group and DGS Group, are developing a 350-key IHG Hotels & Resorts branded hotel in Mumbai’s Western suburbs. The greenfield hotel is expected to serve corporate, MICE and leisure travelers.
The companies recently signed a memorandum of understanding for the project, according to The Economic Times. Construction is expected to start after the hotel management agreement is executed and required diligence, planning and approvals by ZHPL and IHG are completed.
ZHPL is promoted by directors Sandip Gupta, Rajdip Gupta, Ishwar Shukla and Rohit Shukla. The partnership will expand global hospitality brands in Mumbai’s Western business corridors and reinforce SanRaj Group’s role in bringing in international operators, the company said.
“The western region of Mumbai is fast emerging as an important commercial and business hub, supported by improved infrastructure and growing corporate activity,” said Sandip and Rajdip, according to the Times. “This project aligns with our vision of developing hospitality assets that will cater to the evolving needs of both business and leisure travelers. Collaborating with IHG will further strengthen our commitment to delivering globally benchmarked hospitality developments.”
Directors Ishwar Shukla and Saurabh Parsrampuria said their focus is on delivering a guest experience through global operational systems brand equity and professional hotel management.
IHG aims to have more than 400 operational and in-development hotels in India within five years. It currently has over 50 hotels in operation and more than 80 under development, totaling nearly 12,000 rooms.
