HYATT HOTELS CORP. contracted Golden Buildcon to develop Hyatt Place Ahmedabad Nikol in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in India. The 140-key hotel expands Hyatt’s presence in the city, Gujarat’s administrative and commercial hub.

The signing underscores Hyatt’s focus on expanding its brand portfolio in key Indian cities and emerging markets, Hyatt said in a statement. The hotel will feature a 3,455-square-foot ballroom, conference rooms, a boardroom, a fitness center and a swimming pool.

“Ahmedabad continues to demonstrate strong economic growth, driven by infrastructure development, manufacturing, financial services and entrepreneurship,” said Dhruva Rathore, Hyatt’s vice president of real estate and development for India & Southwest Asia. “This signing reflects our confidence in the city’s hospitality market and reinforces our commitment to strengthening Hyatt’s portfolio in high-growth markets across India. We look forward to delivering hospitality experiences that meet the evolving needs of business and leisure travelers in Ahmedabad.”

Globally, Hyatt ended 2025 with its highest U.S. room signings in five years, up 30 percent from 2024, with half in new markets including Greater China and India. Growth was driven by activity across Hyatt’s five brands and its loyalty program, which has over 63 million members.

The company is also updating its World of Hyatt loyalty program, expanding award redemptions from three to five levels across eight categories starting in May. The framework assigns hotels within category caps, manages peak demand and limits category shifts.
