CoStar: World Cup extends hotel gains

U.S. HOTEL METRICS continued to improve in the third week of June, boosted by the World Cup, according to CoStar. RevPAR increased in 21 of the top 25 markets.

Occupancy increased to 71.3 percent for the week ended June 20, up from 69.9 percent the previous week and 1.2 percentage points year over year. ADR climbed to $178.03 from $172.04 week over week and 8.4 percent year over year. RevPAR reached $126.86, up from $120.34 the previous week and 9.7 percent year over year.


Among the top 25 markets, San Francisco posted the largest gains across the three key metrics: occupancy increased 17.6 percent to 84.8 percent, ADR rose 53.5 percent to $301.35 and RevPAR climbed 80.5 percent to $255.45. The gains were driven by two World Cup matches and the Databricks Data + AI Summit.

Houston, which hosted three World Cup matches, posted the second-largest RevPAR gain, up 28.1 percent to $100.01. Seattle, which hosted two World Cup matches, recorded the second-largest ADR gain, up 30.5 percent to $271.80.
