PRISM’s CHECKIN LAUNCHED a pet-friendly program allowing guests to stay with pets at no extra cost across all SUNDAY Hotels. The company piloted pet-friendly offerings in select locations and reported higher repeat bookings and longer stays among guests traveling with pets.

SUNDAY Hotels have trained on-property teams to welcome pets as part of the guest party, PRISM said in a statement. The initiative includes pet kits with bowls, waste bags and a toy ball at select hotels, as well as marked pet-friendly zones and neighborhood recommendations for local pet services such as walkers, groomers and vets.

“CheckIn’s new free pet stay program draws on learnings from other group companies, including G6 Hospitality in the USA, which has a long-standing pet-friendly approach,” said Varun Jain, PRISM Asia’s chief operating officer. “We have fine-tuned the program to anticipate challenges, set safety and cleanliness standards and ensure smooth front desk operations. Cross-group sharing of best practices helped create a program that is globally consistent yet locally adaptable for each market where SUNDAY operates.”

CheckIn is building regional partnerships with pet care brands and animal welfare organizations to support pet-friendly travel, the statement said. It also plans activities such as pet meetups in hotel lobbies, co-branded treats with pet food brands and adoption drives at SUNDAY properties.

Pankaj Poddar, Cosmo First Ltd’s group CEO, said pets are part of many families and travel preferences are evolving accordingly.

“Our partnership brings together Zigly’s understanding of pet wellbeing and CheckIn’s focus on guest-first hospitality,” he said. “Together, we’re creating a global standard for pet-friendly stays — one that recognizes the bond between people and pets while providing comfort, care and convenience at every step.”

In September, PRISM, parent company of OYO, launched CheckIn, a hotel brand collection that brings together some of the most recognised names in premium value hospitality, including Townhouse Hotels, Clubhouse, Sunday Hotels, Belvilla and Palette Hotels, according to The Economic Times. The introduction of free pet-friendly stays is a step in SUNDAY Hotels’ commitment to providing hospitality for travelers worldwide.

PRISM introduced a full refund policy for travelers unable to check in between Dec. 5 and 15 due to flight disruptions.
