WEST COAST HOTELS Pvt. Ltd. is developing a 148-key Waldorf Astoria in Goa. It will be Hilton Worldwide Holdings’ third Waldorf property in India, after Jaipur and New Delhi.
The hotel is scheduled to open in 2030, Hilton said in a statement. Located on a 20-acre waterfront in South Goa, it will have about 10,800 square feet of event and meeting space, plus wellness facilities, a spa, a fitness center and swimming pools.
Goa-based West Coast is a joint venture between V.S. Dempo Group and Triton Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd. It and V.S. Dempo Group are led by Shrinivas Dempo. Mumbai-based Triton is led by Hitesh Bhayani, Pothi Singh Kamlesh, Ratankant Sharma, and Vuk Latincic.
“Goa has long held a unique place in India’s hospitality landscape and this development offers an opportunity to introduce a global luxury brand to South Goa,” said Dempo. “Our partnership with Hilton reflects a shared ambition to create a beachfront destination rooted in Goa’s cultural and natural context while meeting the expectations of today’s luxury traveler.”
Alan Watts, Hilton’s president for Asia Pacific, said the signing of Waldorf Astoria Goa brings luxury to one of India’s leisure destinations and reflects growing investor interest in high-end hospitality.
“This partnership with West Coast Hotels Pvt. Ltd. expands the choice of experience-led stays in India and strengthens our leadership across Asia Pacific as we aim for 250 luxury and lifestyle hotels in the coming years,” he added.
“At its heart, Waldorf Astoria is about creating places that carry meaning and endure over time. The brand is defined by luxury and its hallmark of elegant service,” said Candice D’Cruz, Hilton’s vice president for luxury brands in Asia Pacific. “Goa’s cultural heritage and coastal beauty provide a canvas for this expression, allowing us to bring together thoughtful design, distinctive culinary experiences and a strong sense of place. The result will be a destination that feels both globally iconic and unmistakably Goan.”
In December, Hilton opened the Hilton Hyderabad Genome Valley Resort & Spa, its first property in Hyderabad, Telangana. The resort covers 20 acres in Genome Valley, a biotechnology hub.
