VISION HOSPITALITY GROUP is bringing another hotel to its hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee. This time the company, under President and CEO Mitch Patel, is bringing the first Aloft by Marriott to the city.
Aloft focuses on the use of updated technology, so like other properties in the brand the Chattanooga location has keyless entry to guestrooms using smart phones or other mobile devices. It also had 9-foot ceilings, loft-style guestrooms and other unique features.
“Experiences are the new commodity,” Patel said. “Aloft incorporates technology, design and culture to set it apart from the traditional hotel, and we look forward to bringing this new experience to our hometown of Chattanooga.”
The new hotel will be between The Cheesecake Factory and the Dave & Busters in the Hamilton Place redevelopment project, with construction set to begin in the spring.
This is not Vision’s first venture into boutique hotels, particularly in Chattanooga. In October, it opened the 90-room The Edwin Hotel, an independent luxury boutique hotel that is part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, in the city. In November it launched its own boutique brand, Kinley, that will also have a location in the city.
