VISION HOSPITALITY GROUP Inc. on July 19 held a grand-opening celebration at its SpringHill Suites Downtown Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia.
A few hundred people attended the event at the Marriott-branded hotel that sits across from Centennial Olympic Park, home to the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
Mitch Patel is president and CEO of Vision Hospitality, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The company has hotels in its home state as well as Georgia, most of those in metro-Atlanta.
The 12-story SpringHill Suites has 170 rooms which start on the sixth floor, above a 94-space parking garage. Large windows in the guest rooms allow for high-rise views of the downtown area. The meeting room is on the ground floor with windows and a door overlooking an outdoor patio with seating.
The lobby and front desk are on the second floor, which has an entrance from the parking garage as well as a street-level entrance along Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard.
The celebration included live music, food and drinks at the fully stocked lobby bar. Attending the event were city officials, employees of Vision Hospitality, representatives of Marriott International and others. Guests of the hotel were invited to take part in the celebration. The hotel targets business as well as leisure travelers.
The hotel opened in mid-May. It is Vision Hospitality’s first SpringHill Suites. Vision Hospitality has more than 40 hotels in its portfolio. It is developing several more. One of which is an independent luxury boutique hotel in downtown Chattanooga.
