AN ASIAN AMERICAN hotelier has teamed up with G6 Hospitality to develop the first new-construction dual branded Motel 6 and Studio 6.

Vijay Patel, president and CEO of Lakeway Hospitality in Austin, Texas, will build the hotels along a major highway that connects downtown Austin to the airport.

“We are excited to announce our newest venture with G6 Hospitality as we continue to expand lodging options throughout the state of Texas,” said Patel.

G6 Hospitality owns Motel 6, a limited service product, and Studio 6, an extended stay model. Both brands are in the economy segment.

The four-story 98-unit hotel franchise is owned by HKV Hospitality LLC, a subsidiary of Lakeway. It is scheduled to open in early 2019.

The hotels will share a large social area and feature the brands’ Phoenix  prototype, a sleek wood-effect flooring, flat-screen televisions, pedestal beds, granite bathroom countertops and bold color scheme. The rooms also will have fully equipped kitchens, expanded cable and Wi-Fi. A guest laundry and parking are planned.

“As the hotel landscape continues to diversify and evolve, we are constantly pursuing creative ways to provide our guests with trusted economy lodging options that cater to their unique lifestyle needs,” said Rob Palleschi, chief development officer at G6 Hospitality.

“We are confident that the decision to offer the best of our Motel 6 and Studio 6 offerings in one location will further drive the G6 Hospitality brand in a positive direction towards significant product growth, both domestically and internationally.”

G6 Hospitality has a pipeline of more than 60 new-construction hotels throughout North America.
