IHG’s Holiday Inn Express has the largest share of the upper midscale pipeline with 444 projects and 41,343 rooms, according to Lodging Econometrics.

UPPER MIDSCALE HOTEL projects made up most of the U.S. pipeline with 2,129 projects totaling 211,724 rooms, according to Lodging Econometrics. Upscale projects came in second with 1,339 projects or 172,723 rooms. Together the two categories make up 67 percent of the total pipeline.

IHG’s Holiday Inn Express has the largest share of the upper midscale pipeline with 444 projects and 41,343 rooms. It is followed by Hilton’s Home2 Suites with 355 projects and 37,188 rooms; Hampton Inn & Suites with 314 projects and 32,386 rooms; and Marriott’s Fairfield Inn with 303 projects and 29,051 rooms.

In upscale, the top brands are Marriott’s Residence Inn with 199 projects and 24,680 rooms; SpringHill Suites with 174 projects and 19,931 rooms; Courtyard by Marriott with 139 projects and 18,000 rooms; and Hilton Garden Inn with 134 projects and 17,616 rooms.
