Amy Travieso is to be the new vice president of government affairs at The American Hotel & Lodging Association. Her appointment is effective on Jan. 2.
She will cover regulatory and legislative affairs on technology, innovation and other policy areas. She also will provide strategic support for the association’s political action committee, HotelPAC.
Travieso was the lead Democratic liaison for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Technology Engagement Center. Before joining the chamber, she spent 10 years in the House of Representatives, serving the last six as the deputy chief of staff for Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas, a Democrat who co-chairs the Blue Dog Coalition.
Travieso joins Brian Crawford, who is incoming senior vice president of government affairs at AHLA.
The new appointments bring the number of AHLA government affairs team members to 10.
