Ralph Thiergart is vice president and general manager of extended stay brands at Choice Hotels International.
His duties include overseeing Choice’s recently acquired WoodSpring Suites brand along with the company’s MainStay Suites and Suburban Extended Stay brands.
Previously, Thiergart, who joined Choice in 2005, was vice president of franchise services. Prior to joining Choice, he oversaw sales and marketing for Lexington Hotel Suites, a brand by the former Vantage Hospitality Group. Previous to that, he had led sales, marketing and operations at Dimension Development, a hotel management company, and had worked at Marriott International and Hilton Worldwide with their extended-stay brands Residence Inn and Homewood Suites, respectively.
Thiergart has a bachelor’s degrees in biology and business administration from Newman University in Wichita, Kansas. He is a member of the International Franchise Association and AAHOA.
Choice acquired WoodSpring Suites in February. Choice CEO Patrick Pacious said at the time the $231 million deal gave the company 250 hotels and will not only grow its extended-stay footprint but will also attract investment into other Choice brands.
