SUN DEVELOPMENT & Management Corp. in April opened a hotel and conference center in Noblesville, Indiana, less than two years after breaking ground.

The Indianapolis-based company co-founded by Bharat Patel, CEO, opened the 198-room Embassy Suites by Hilton Noblesville Indianapolis Conference Center. Champion Hotels of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is an investment partner. Champak Patel is CEO of Champion. The companies are developing a number of hotels together.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Noblesville project was held in August 2016 and drew officials from Hilton, the city and Hamilton County. The municipalities provided tax breaks and other financial incentives to offset the cost of the $35 million mixed-use project, which provides the city with 29,000 square feet meeting space. It is one of the largest meeting venues in Hamilton County.

The hotel and conference center is off Interstate 69 and adjacent to Hamilton Town Center, a retail development. The six-acre project includes more than 360 parking spaces. Sun Development owns eight adjoining acres and plans to subdivide the land to include parcels for restaurants.

Municipal stimulus includes $4 million toward the construction of the conference center and a 10-year or $1.3 million abatement on real estate and personal property taxes.
