The Residence Inn Wilmington Downtown, which opened March 22 in downtown Wilmington, Delaware, is the first hotel to open in the city’s downtown for 20 years.

The Residence Inn Wilmington Downtown opened March 22 in Wilmington, Delaware. The upscale, extended-stay hotel has 96 suites. Canon Hospitality Management, headed by Canon Patel, developed, owns and manages the property.

It is the first hotel to open in downtown Wilmington in 20 years.

The hotel is in a former office building that Patel acquired two years ago and spent $10 million to renovate it. The hotel has an on-site restaurant and 1,590 square feet of meeting space.
