AN ASIAN AMERICAN hotelier is building a full-service hotel near Orlando International Airport on land he has held for a decade.
Dheeraj Reddy, manager of Reddy Hotels and Green Stay Hospitality LLC in Orlando, took part in late December in a groundbreaking ceremony to announce the start of a Cambria Suites hotel, an upscale brand by Choice Hotels International.
The five-story, 106-room hotel is going up on three acres about two miles from the airport. Growth Spotter in 2016 reported family-owned Reddy Hotels had held onto the land for 10 years and decided to build a hotel as a result of the airport’s $2 billion expansion.
Green Stay Hospitality is the developer. The company is a subsidiary of Reddy Hotels, which has other properties in the area. The Cambria Hotel Orlando International Airport is slated to open in early 2021.
In related news, Southern Hospitality Management Corp. of Mount Dora, Florida, is building a 164-suite TownePlace Suites near the airport. Nikesh Shah is president of SHM Corp.
In May, Hotel Motel Inc. under founder, President and CEO Jai Motwani began construction on a 104-room Cambria Hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida.
