NewcrestImage opened a dual-brand AC Hotel and Residence Inn on Aug. 2 in Frisco, Texas.

NEWCRESTIMAGE IS HALFWAY to completing a four-hotel campus to complement a $1.5 billion mixed-used development in Frisco, Texas.

The metro-Dallas-based hotel developer, owner and manager, on Aug. 2 opened its dual-branded AC Hotel and Residence Inn in Frisco Station. The 240-acre project that will have apartments; office, retail and dining space; medical and wellness facilities; and parks and recreation.

Next to the hotels and Frisco Station is the Ford Center at the Star, headquarters and event center for the Dallas Cowboys.

AC Hotel is an upscale boutique brand by Marriott International. Residence Inn is an upscale extended-stay Marriott brand. Each property has 150 rooms.

They share amenities including an indoor pool, fitness center and more than 3,000 square feet of meeting space. Each hotel has its own lobby, lounge, dining area and business center. Marissa Maguire is general manager. Kendahl Rasnick is director of sales.

NewcrestImage plans to build two more hotels at the site. A 150-room Canopy by Hilton is under construction. The lifestyle hotel is expected to open later this year. The fourth hotel, a 150-room Hyatt Place, is in the planning stage.

In all, NewcrestImage will have 600 rooms in a retail and hospitality area of the development called The Hub. Mehul Patel is CEO of NewcrestImage.

In July, NewcrestImage announced it had begun a nationwide expansion of its operations. It hired two new finance executives, David Perel as chief investment officer and Caroline Lerner Perel as chief development officer, with a target of $2 billion in growth.
