Brian Mauro is M&R Hotel Management’s new general manager of the Holiday Inn New York JFK Airport Area hotel. M&R, headed by CEO Amit Gandhi, manages 23 hotels in the New York metropolitan area and Midwest and recently appointed Robert Arigo as vice president of operations over the company’s New York City properties.
Along with operating the 201-room Holiday Inn, Mauro will liaise with the operator of the independently managed Brookville Restaurant & Bar on the hotel’s second floor. Mauro previously served as GM of the Hilton Garden Inn Long Island City Queensboro Bridge hotel in New York. He also managed various other hotels in New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
He has a master’s degree in hospitality management from Johnson & Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island. He also is certified in fire safety, food protection, pool and spa operations, CPR and first aid.
M&R appointed Arigo earlier this month. He previously was senior director of operations for Hersha Hospitality Management’s New York properties. Hersha is run by brothers Jay Shah, CEO, and Neil Shah, president and CFO.
