Shamim Lodin is the new director of hotel development at Margaritaville Holdings. Previously he worked for.
He will lead the company’s portfolio expansion for both the Margaritaville Hotels & Resorts and COMPASS select-service brands across the American region, including the Latin American and Caribbean markets.
Prior to joining Margaritaville, Lodin held several senior leadership roles with Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Ritz-Carlton Hotels & Resorts and, most recently, IHG.
At IHG, he led the new business development teams and hotel sales support teams for the Americas region, with a focus on incremental revenue delivery into focus markets and brands.
Lodin is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated from Georgia State University. He also volunteers at Year Up, an organization that provides urban young adults with professional career training. A native of Afghanistan, he speaks English, Spanish, Persian and Pashto.
“With extensive experience in global sales and new business development, Shamim will play an important role in the expansion of the Margaritaville portfolio,” said Rick Cunningham, senior vice president of hotel development.
Lodin’s former employer, IHG, saw more growth in 2018.
