HOS MANAGEMENT OF Savannah, Georgia, recently got started on a new-build Cambria Hotel in Savannah’s historic district.

The Asian American owned hotel company held a groundbreaking ceremony on Feb. 14 at the site in the 300 block of Montgomery Street. The 103-room, six-story Cambria Hotel Savannah Historic District is slated to open in 2019.

The groundbreaking event took place more than two years after HOS Management signed a licensing agreement to build the Cambria.

It will be the first Cambria Hotel in Georgia, said Janis Cannon, senior vice president, upscale brands at Choice Hotels. “HOS Management has a deep understanding of Savannah and we’re thrilled to team up with them.”

HOS Management is a second-generation hospitality and development group with more than 30 years of industry experience in Savannah. Brothers Kirit and Anil Patel started the company with one hotel. Kirit is CEO and Anil is president and chief development officer. Second generation leadership includes Kris Patel as chief financial officer and Riki Patel as vice president of operations. They are Kirit’s sons.

“Our collaboration with Choice has been tremendous, and we look forward to working closely throughout the development of this great property,” said Kris Patel during the groundbreaking event. HOS Management has four other hotels in Savannah. It is also constructing a shopping center in neighboring Pooler, Georgia.
