The 206-room Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago River North has opened Chicago, Illinois. It was developed by locally based Akara Partners under Founder and CEO Rajen Shastri.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago River North has opened Chicago, Illinois. The 206-room hotel is the 300th for the brand and was developed by Akara Partners and managed by Aimbridge Hospitality.

Rajen Shastri is Akara Partners’ founder and CEO.

The pet-friendly hotel features all-suite accommodations with tech-focused and eco-conscious amenities. It has fully accessorized kitchen, modular furniture, complimentary internet and flexibility to customize the suite as per the guest’s preference. Other amenities include digital check-in, Spin2 Cycle, a combined laundry and fitness area. Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier are nearby.

Home2 Suites by Hilton opened its first property in Feb. 2011 and it opened the 50th hotel in 2015. It is anticipating growing demand for hotels in Chicago, where tourism numbers grew by 4.3 percent in 2018 to a record 57.6 million visitors, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Boston, Massachusetts-based private equity investor Advent International is in the process of acquiring Dallas, Texas-based Aimbridge. The deal is expected to close this month.
