VEER LAXMI INC. is building a GLō by Best Western in McCook, Illinois.

The company recently held a groundbreaking ceremony in the Chicagoland suburb, Best Western Hotels & Resorts Inc. announced on Dec. 6.

Manoj Mahapatra is president of Veer Laxmi Inc. Attending the event were David Kong, president and CEO of Best Western, and Jeff Tobolski, mayor of McCook and a Cook County Commissioner.

GLō is a midscale brand that Best Western launched in fall 2015. The McCook GLō is expected to open in 2020. It will have 76 rooms and a conference center.

The site is just north of Interstate 55 near Chicago Midway Airport and downtown Chicago. Cook County is the nation’s second largest county and home to many corporate and industrial businesses.
