Sonia Egyhazy is Choice Hotels International’s regional vice president of franchise development for Cambria Hotels. She has served as Cambria’s director of franchise sales in the mid-Atlantic since 2015.
Cambria is one of Choice’s upscale brands, along with the Ascend Hotel Collection. The company now has 20,000 upscale rooms in the U.S. and 47,000 globally, said Mark Shalala, Choice’s vice president for franchise development for upscale brands.
“We knew we could move up in segments, and we did,” Choice CEO Patrick Pacious said last May at Choice Hotels International’s 64th annual global conference. Ascend, an upscale soft brand, has more than 200 hotels signed – more than any other soft brand, including Marriott and Hilton combined – and 50 in development.
Jake Fischer will take over Egyhazy’s development tasks.
