Dorothy Dowling, senior vice president, and chief marketing officer at Best Western Hotels and Resorts, received a Bronze Stevie Award in the Woman of the Year award. Dowling won in the advertising, marketing, and public relations category in the 16th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business contest.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are given to women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and women-owned companies.
“It is an incredible honor to be recognized with this award,” said Dowling. “I truly believe that by hiring the right boss and cultivating the right team, anything is possible in a career. I am fortunate to have the strength of my team at Best Western behind me and am excited to see what the future holds.”
Dowling leads all marketing and sales strategies for Best Western. She also oversees the brand’s loyalty program, consumer and field marketing activities, advertising, public relations, and e-commerce.
Dowling has implemented several measures to increase market share and contemporize the Best Western brand since joining in 2004.
She was named ‘Top 40 Women in Travel’ this year by GBTA. Other recognitions include ‘Allied Member of the Year’ at the GBTA convention in 2018, Hotel Management magazine’s ‘30 Influential Women in Hospitality’ and Direct Marketing News Marketing Hall of Femme.
