Construction is under way for one of the first Motto by Hilton hotels, Hilton’s new lifestyle micro-hotel, in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of Atlanta. Lucror Resources, the company leading the development along with equity partner Sixty West, is led by Managing Principal Arun Nijhawan.
City officials and company representatives attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the 146-room Motto by Hilton Atlanta Old Fourth Ward, slated to open in 2021, at Waldo’s, an $80 million modern mixed-use development project that will include food and beverage outlets. Atlanta-based Hospitality Ventures Management Group will operate the hotel.
“Motto by Hilton embodies Waldo’s philosophy of being true to oneself and not an imitator of another – do the things at which you are great,” Nijhawan said. “We believe Motto is at the forefront of redefining the micro-hotel experience and will showcase the history and culture of the Old Fourth Ward community.”
Hilton launched Motto in 2018 as an affordable option for travelers to destination cities. Other Mottos are planned for Brooklyn and Chelsea, New York; Indianapolis; Lima, Peru; Savannah, Georgia; and Washington, D.C.
“Since launching Motto by Hilton last year, our expansion in the U.S. and abroad is a testament to our incredible partners, owners and the development community,” said Ian Carter, Hilton’s president for global development, architecture, design and construction.
The other planned U.S. Motto locations are:
