Sudharshan Chary, co-founder and president of Datavision Technologies, will be inducted into the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals’ International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame. He is being recognized for creating a program that aids in data collection for hospitality clients.
Chary, along with his partner Sherry Marek, co-founded Datavision Technologies, Inc. in 1996, at a time when hotels struggled with basic reporting. They created the Datavision Business Intelligence system, recognizing the need to automate data collection.
Datavision’s BI system combines hotel information with other data sources such as weather, social media, comp set information, web analytics, guest surveys, etc. while incorporating self-service BI and machine learning.
The induction into the hall of fame, which is HFTP’s recognition of experts in the area of technology, will take place at the 2019 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Tuesday, June 18.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized for my contributions to the hospitality industry,” said Chary. “To be part of a select group that includes some of the biggest names in hospitality is very rewarding and quite humbling.”
New technology is becoming increasing prevalent in the hotel industry. For example, AAHOA offers its members a free cloud-based property management system while Red Lion Hotels Corp. recently created its RLabs, Inc., division to market its revenue management software.
