The dual-branded Hampton Inn by Hilton Tampa Downtown Channel District and Home2 Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Channel District is now open in Tampa, Florida. The 213-room hotel was developed and is managed by Tampa-based Liberty Group under CEO Punit Shah.

The Hampton Inn/Home2 Suites is on East Kennedy Boulevard near the Tampa Convention Center, the Florida Aquarium, Amalie Arena, Water Street, USF College of Medicine and Port Tampa Bay. It features larger-than-standard communal areas and two dining areas. It has a rooftop pool and meeting space for up to 150 people.

“Tampa continues to establish itself as a world-class city, and our urban core offers diverse demand generators that create the ideal location for both the Hampton by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton brands,” Shah said.

Liberty Group, which was founded by Raxit Shah in 1980, announced plans to build the dual-brand at the end of 2017. The company acquired the one-acre corner lot in 2016 for $3.25 million and secured a construction loan of $24.3 million from Centennial Bank, the Tampa Bay Business Journal reported at the time.
