RAM Hotels President Rinkesh Patel, left, explains the significance of smashing a coconut on the ground outside the company’s new Home2 Suites by Hilton Alpharetta in Alpharetta, Georgia.

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA-BASED RAM Hotels held a ribbon cutting last week for its new Home2 Suites by Hilton Alpharetta, officially opening the property in Alpharetta, Georgia. Hosting were the company’s President Rinkesh Patel and Executive Vice President Mitesh Patel, the brothers who started the company.

Alpharetta Mayor Jim Gilvin and Adrian Kurre, global head of the Home2 brand, attended the event despite pouring rain. The 158-suite extended-stay hotel on Morris Road is near several shops and restaurants.

Patel smashes the coconut as part of a Hindu ritual to remove difficulties for the new property.

The rooms are equipped with kitchens in each suite, a Home2 MKT for amenities, an indoor/outdoor saline pool and outdoor grills. Additionally, the hotel property is pet-friendly.

“Home2 Suites has great amenities such as all suite-style rooms, outdoor kitchen, fire pit and one of the best fitness centers in the market,” Mitesh said. “This hotel is perfectly placed in an up and coming area of the Avalon shopping area. We are confident this will capture premium extended-stay clients to stay with us for long term.”

Along with the ribbon cutting, Rinkesh smashed a coconut on the hotel’s driveway for good luck. They also donated $2,000 to United Way of Greater Atlanta.

“This property offers convenient access to the area for both business and leisure travelers,” Kurre said.

Earlier in December, Peachtree Hotel Group under Managing Principals Mitul Patel and Jatin Desai and CEO Greg Friedman opened its Home2 Suites by Hilton Lawrenceville Atlanta Sugarloaf in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
