The Vista Inn & Suites in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is one of several properties the newly formed Advantage Hotels acquired from the former AdVantis Hospitality. Advantage, formed by industry veteran Patrick Mullinix, is now a vendor partner with Austin, Texas-based Leuva Patidar Samaj of USA.

NEWLY-FORMED COMPANY Advantage Hotels is now a vendor partner for Brentwood, Tennessee-based Leuva Patidar Samaj of USA. Industry veteran and Advantage President and CEO Patrick Mullinix will attend the LPS of USA convention this week to introduce its Vista and Select Inn brands to the members.

Mullinix announced the formation of Advantage Hotels last month, including his acquisition of the Vista and Select Inn brands from Advantis Hospitality Alliance. Two members of Advantage Hotel’s advisory board, Dhansukh “Dan” Patel and Mukesh Mowji – are former LPS presidents. Both also are former AAHOA chairmen along with another member of the advisory board Ramesh Surati.

“I have admired and supported LPS of USA since its inception and consider so many of its officers and members as cherished relationships,” Mullinix said. “This is not just a one-year agreement, it’s a long-term commitment that will ensure the success of both organizations through the combined support of each other. It also solidifies our commitment to the values of LPS and what they represent.”

Mullinix has long worked with Asian American hoteliers, who comprise the majority of franchisees of Americas Best Value Inn, a brand he was instrumental in growing when it was owned by Vantage Hotels.

“LPS of USA is proud to align with Advantage Hotels and we look forward to growing this partnership with Patrick, who I have personally known for almost 10 years now. Both organizations have strong family cultures, so this is a natural fit,” said incoming LPS of USA President Jimmy Patel.

Mullinix began his career in 1995 as a regional franchise development director for Super 8, which is now a brand under Wyndham Hotels. He joined Cobblestone Hotels last year as its president of franchise development. Cobblestone Hotels acquired Vimana Franchise Systems’ brands in 2018.

Advantage Hotels President and CEO Patrick Mullinix left his position as president of franchise development at Cobblestone Hotels to form the new company.

Prior to that, Mullinix was group president of Americas Best Value Inn, founded by Vantage Hospitality and acquired in 2016 by Red Lion Hotels Corp.

“Advantage will be more of a franchise family that looks at business a bit differently. We understand individual needs, so our cornerstones will be customizable solutions for every owner and a highly responsive staff,” Mullinix said last month.

“Advantage’s ideals and commitment to being franchise friendly with customized support are closely in line with how Advantis operated, and our owners are very pleased with this transition,” said Surati, a former director at Advantis Hospitality along with Dan Patel.

Select Inn is an upper economy brand with locations in Minnesota, North Dakota, Tennessee and Texas. Vista Inn and Vista Inn & Suites are midscale brands with properties in Florida and Tennessee.
